Miseventer’s Partners in Crime (past and present)

Past:

Tara:  1931188_45285985347_585_n15hh, 1995 bay TB mare. Received for Christmas at age 15. Our misevents included giving pony rides to my dad, jumping logs in the city park, swimming in the river, pulling a deer for my dad, riding with my dog and so much more.

Britt: 1999 OTTB mare bought straight off the track with a broken fetlock after some polo ponies beat her up. Misevents included purchasing her, learning how to ride a young, green horse, bad case of cellulitis, trailering her, having her at college with me, and bringing her back home before I studied abroad.

Atticus: 2008 TrakehnerX gelding. First horse purchased entirely on my own as an “adult” after graduation college. Adventures included starting him under saddle and teaching him that the world is not a terrifying place

There are probably not enough words in the English language to describe what this horse meant to me…or how many misevents we had in our time together. Nothing ever went according to plan with this mare but as you can see in these two pictures of her, that wasn’t always a bad thing. It made for a great many laughs and learning how to not take life so seriously. Notable misevents included cross country schooling the first time, our first event, our first show together (hunter schooling show), teaching her tricks, moving her to my parents’ house for the winter, and ultimately selling her.
